Perhaps the best kept secret in Jacksonville, Florida, can be found tucked away along the west bank of the St. Johns River, near the intersection of US 17 and I-295. The Rudder Club of Jacksonville was founded in the 1940s and is located under a canopy of giant oak, cedar, and other trees on scenic and serene riverfront land. Through the years, the club has continued to provide both cruising and racing members with a club setting where interest, enthusiasm and experience in the sport of sailing are mutually enjoyed.

Since its creation in 1940, the club has continued to sponsor very successful sailing education programs for both adults and juniors and has grown into one of the strongest sailing clubs in the country.
